The Attorney-General has announced funding totalling $17m over three years for 18 new services which will support children dealing with the breakdown of their parents’ relationship. These services provide help and support to children whose parents decide they can no longer live together.
The organisations invited to begin funding negotiations were recommended through the 2008 Supporting Children after Separation Program selection process. Services are expected to open by the end of November 2008.
The Attorney-General's Department is conducting open, competitive selection processes for 14 Post Separation Cooperative Parenting services and a Regional Family Dispute Resolution service.
At the same time, the Department, together with of the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, is conducting an open, competitive selection process for Early Intervention Services in Geelong.
Further Information about these selection processes is available at www.ag.gov.au/funding.
