Award – Statement of Attainment

Course aim

The aim of the 5-day Advanced Security Risk Management (ASRM) course is to develop and enhance key security risk practitioner (assessor) skills for the workplace, including:

  • communicating and negotiating Terms of Reference for a security risk review
  • conducting a comprehensive security risk survey
  • writing a comprehensive security survey report
  • briefing management on outcomes
  • developing security risk management plans, and
  • monitoring and evaluating risk management plans.

The final course assessment requires completion of a security risk survey of an agreed location, preferably within your organisation

The course incorporates case studies, practical examples and the valuable opportunity to interact with visiting subject matter experts, along with individual and syndicate activities. The course is based on the provisions of Australian / New Zealand Standard on Risk Management AS/NZ 4360:2004 and Standards Australia / Standards New Zealand Handbook on Risk Management HB 167:2006.

The course offers a Statement of Attainment in five units of competency towards a Diploma of Government (Security).

Introduction to Security Risk Management course or equivalent experience.
